Our Village strengthens food security and family support systems for low-income families, youth, and Native community members in rural Moab, Utah. Through food access, family wellness, and community connection programs, Our Village addresses basic needs while fostering long-term stability and resilience for underserved populations. The Ameri Corps VISTA member will focus on building organizational capacity to expand the reach and sustainability of these programs.
The VISTA will develop and document sustainable volunteer management systems, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and retention processes. They will research and pursue grant and funding opportunities, assist with donor communications, and support the development of fundraising campaigns to diversify and strengthen revenue streams. To improve program operations, the VISTA will create systems to track and manage in‑kind food and farm donations and support seasonal fundraising and community events tied to food security.
The member will also increase community outreach and awareness by designing outreach materials and managing social media and other digital engagement tools. In collaboration with schools, local farms, and Indigenous‑led partners, the VISTA will help strengthen partnerships that expand access to nutritious food and family support services. All systems, tools, and procedures developed will be documented to ensure long‑term sustainability and continued impact beyond the VISTA service term.
Duties
