Golf Course Cart Attendant

GENERAL PURPOSE

The golf cart attendant works closely with Golf Professionals and starters in outside golf operations to ensure a smooth experience for members and their guests around the course. Primary responsibilities include member service, efficient cart loading, cart cleanliness, staging, and storage. The Cart Attendant must have excellent listening skills and a strong commitment to providing outstanding service. Flexibility to meet the course's varying scheduling needs is essential, and additional hours may be required.

Attendants should be neat, well-groomed, self-motivated, able to work independently, and willing to perform any task assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the general guidance of the golf professional or the person managing the counter. Daily assignments are given and reviewed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greet all members, guests, and employees with respect and friendliness, using names when possible.
• Recognize that duties may evolve and responsibilities will change accordingly.
• Provide a warm, friendly, and professional greeting to members and guests in line with facility policies.
• Manage daily range ball recovery using mechanical and manual equipment.
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of all range baskets used for ball transportation.
• Maintain attractive, neat, and trash-free work areas.
• Wash range balls regularly to ensure cleanliness and usability.
• Follow proper procedures for opening and closing cart and range operations.
• Keep outside areas tidy and free of carts clogging passageways; arrange carts neatly after use.
• Inspect golf carts for cleanliness and appearance regularly.
• Ensure carts are clean, stocked, fueled, and in good condition; rotate carts for even usage.
• Assist golf shop staff with tournament setup for carts and range operations.
• Report major issues or complaints to a manager or assistant manager.
• Manage cart procedures to maintain order and flow of players.
• Track and report supply needs for daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Keep the supervisor fully informed of significant problems or issues.

Range and Cart Barn Tasks

• Set up range stations with balls, maintain cleanliness, and assist members with clubs.
• Pick up and dismantle range setups at day's end.
• Stage golf carts with bags, maintain the staging and practice areas, and ensure carts are gassed, clean, and presentable.
• Clean golf clubs, assist with member arrivals and departures, and maintain the cart barn.
• Perform starting and marshalling duties and clean bathrooms as needed.

2. Work Environment:

Typically performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Tasks involve physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Good hearing, sight, and manual dexterity are necessary. The role may involve moderate fatigue from prolonged standing and requires mental focus, memory, and problem-solving skills.
