Why Work With Us
Roosevelt City is built on service, progress, and the belief that strong communities start with dedicated people. As a Greens Assistant
, you'll join a department that values teamwork, professional growth, and the pride that comes from maintaining a premier golf experience. Working within the Golf Course Maintenance team means stepping into a role where your work truly makes a visible difference every single day.
A typical day as a Greens Assistant includes a variety of tasks that keep our course in top playing condition. You'll help operate and maintain the irrigation system, support fertilizer and pesticide applications, and relay important information between team members. The Greens Assistant also participates in morning assignments, assists in training seasonal staff, operates industry equipment, and works closely with leadership to maintain greens, tees, fairways, and other key playing areas.
Whether calibrating a sprayer or helping execute the day's maintenance plan, the Greens Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring our high standards are consistently met. This is a hands‑on role where every task supports course playability, turf health, and the great golfer experience we're known for.
The Greens Assistant follows a rotating schedule that may include early mornings, weekends, and some holidays. This ensures the team can maintain the course during peak growing and playing conditions. As a Greens Assistant
, you'll enjoy working outdoors, being active, and taking on new challenges with a supportive crew.
To excel as a Greens Assistant
, candidates should have 1–2 years of golf course maintenance experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate common turf equipment. Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilizers, and pesticides is helpful, and while a turf‑related degree is recommended, it's not required. A valid driver's license is essential, and the willingness to obtain a pesticide applicator license will help you grow in the role.
Above all, a successful Greens Assistant is reliable, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high‑quality course conditions.
If you're excited to join a team that values your contribution and offers room to grow, apply today through our quick 3‑minute application! Become our next Greens Assistant and help us keep Roosevelt City's course in top condition.
