FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over nine years.

What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

• Most inspections are exterior only and typically take 5–6 minutes.
• Complete each inspection within four days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take nine or more photos of the property with brief comments.
• Fill out a short form in the mobile application.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day across the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus, as you will pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn an equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working two to 30 hours per week.

Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates. The work is consistent month‑to‑month, and you can earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement is provided above the flat fee per inspection.
