General PurposeThis employee performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled mechanical and technical tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of golf course equipment, irrigation pumps, and related systems at Eaglewood Golf Course. The principal purpose of this position is to ensure all equipment and mechanical systems are safe, reliable, and properly maintained to support daily golf course operations and consistent course conditioning.
SupervisionReceived
This employee works under the general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and the direct oversight of the General Manager. Work is reviewed through observation, reports, and overall results achieved.
Supervision ExercisedMay provide technical direction, instruction, and training to seasonal and full-time golf maintenance employees in the safe and proper use of equipment.
Essential FunctionsB. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in small engine, automotive, turf, or agricultural equipment repair, preferably in a golf course or parks maintenance environment; OR
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
B. Skill in the use of precision grinding equipment, welders, and common shop tools.
C. Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of oils, fuels, and lubricants in compliance with environmental regulations.
D. Ability to establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program; keep accurate service and cost records.
E. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff, prioritize workload, and work independently with minimal supervision.
F. Ability to instruct staff on safe operating practices and maintain a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
- Must possess a valid Utah driver's license and be able to obtain a Utah Class A CDL within 6 months of hire date.
- Must be able to obtain safety and equipment certifications as required.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- May be required to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as golf operations demand.
Incumbent performs duties primarily in a shop environment with regular exposure to noise, fumes, dust, oils, and weather extremes. Tasks involve physical activity including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 70 pounds, and operating mechanical equipment. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity required. Mental application involves mechanical reasoning, problem-solving, attention to detail, and time management.
