Overview
Hey there! Are you a strong swimmer who loves being around the water? Want to earn money, gain leadership skills, and be a part of an amazing fun filled team? As a lifeguard, your primary responsibility is ensuring the safety of everyone in and around the pool. You'll be a visible presence, providing safety instructions, responding to emergencies, and making sure the environment is always clean, safe, and welcoming.
Keyduties
- Monitor Pool Areas: Constantly observe swimmers to detect potential hazards and respond quickly in emergencies.
- Enforce Safety Rules: Remind swimmers of pool safety rules and regulations in a friendly, approachable manner.
- Respond to Emergencies: Act swiftly and appropriately in the event of an emergency. Provide first aid, CPR, or rescue assistance when needed.
- Prevent Accidents: Proactively prevent accidents by maintaining a vigilant watch, especially in high-traffic areas or with young swimmers.
- Maintain Pool Equipment: Ensure that pool equipment (such as floats, rescue equipment, etc.) is properly maintained and accessible.
- Assist with Poolside Operations: Help with poolside setup and cleanup, including overseeing facility cleanliness, checking water quality, and ensuring the facility stays safe and inviting.
- Customer Service: Greet and assist guests, answer questions, and provide excellent service while maintaining a professional demeanor
To succeed in this role, you must be reliable, alert, and comfortable in a leadership position. Here's what we're looking for:
- Age: Must be at least 15 years old
- Lifeguard Certification: Certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR is required. If you do not have this certification yet, we offer lifeguard training courses to help you get certified before you start.
- Swimming
Skills:
You should be a strong swimmer and confident in the water. You'll need to demonstrate your swimming abilities during the interview process. - Physical Fitness: This job requires physical stamina, including the ability to swim, run, and stand for long periods.
- Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal communication is essential for giving instructions, responding to questions, and working with a team. - Responsibility: You must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed safety protocols.
- Team Player: Lifeguarding is a team effort, so being able to work well with others is crucial.
- Positive Attitude: We're looking for individuals who are approachable, friendly, and customer-service focused.
- Current LG Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Additional certifications (CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Water Safety Instructor, etc.)
- Experience in customer service or a public-facing role
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
