Aerospace Tooling & Fixture Assembly Technician
Step into a day where your craftsmanship supports flight. At Smith Brothers Tool Company (est. 1981), you’ll help build the jigs, fixtures, and tooling that Space, Aerospace, and Defense leaders rely on. From our in‑house design and engineering to final certification, we produce assembly tools, lay‑up tools, checking tools, and mill fixtures for customers like Boeing, Bell Helicopter, GE Aviation, and Honda Aircraft Company.
Yourday‑to‑day
You’ll transform build prints into precision‑built tooling. Each project begins with interpreting requirements, calculating any missing dimensions, and planning the layout across various materials. You’ll establish reference points and tooling holes using straightedges and precision measurement, then fit and assemble components into reliable tools for Aerospace customers. When tools need rework, you’ll diagnose, repair, and certify them back to spec. You’ll also sketch concepts for fabrication and, when needed, jump onto equipment—including lathes, Bridgeports, and grinders—to keep projects moving.
