DaysUnder the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Family Practice Physician is primarily responsible for participating in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients. The Physician provides the full scope of primary care services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients.
The Family Practice Physician is additionally responsible for supporting clinical supervision (e.g. client oversight, case consultation, productivity reports, quality assurance) and support for medical services provided by the agency. The Sr. Director of Integrative Health is responsible for ensuring delivery of exceptional services that are focused on client needs while also upholding all ethical and best-practice standards.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive medical services to patients across the life course presenting for care, on a continuing basis; examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment
- Where indicated, obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients; establish accurate diagnosis
- Perform clinical services to patients who present with illness or disease, including minor procedures (IUD placement, suture removal, wound care, etc.).
- Orders or executes various tests and diagnostic images to provide information on patients condition.
- Reviews incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) signs, dates and follows-up in a timely manner.
- Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases
- Provide or directly oversee services and procedures appropriate in the outpatient setting.
- Educate patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Administers or prescribes treatments and medications, and instructs patients on proper utilization
- Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patients well-being
- Adhere to established clinical protocols and procedures.
- Maintain adequate and legible patient medical records in the established chart.
- Supervise or participate in and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Fulfill HRSA and health center productivity standards, such as UDS.
- Follow established health center procedures for patient billing and reimbursement.
- Maintain professional competence by completing appropriate specialty requirements of CME.
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings and other clinical meetings
- Performs on-call duties as needed including responsibilities in the electronic health record and the after hours telephone on-call.
- Acknowledges patients rights on confidentiality issues, maintains patient confidentiality at all times, and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations and certifications.
- Successful completion of credentialing and privileged review upon hire and re-credentialing.
- Work with Integrative Health staff to provide collaborative care for patients
- Maintains self in a professional manner at all times, adhering to regulatory body guidelines, policy and procedures and in keeping with the Agencys mission statement, as well as professional Code of Ethics.
- Participate in supervision meetings, staff meetings, agency-wide meetings, utilization review meetings, in-service training, and agency culture events.
- Complete all applicable licensing requirements and ethical standards including maintaining required CE hours. Universal Duties:
