Maintenance Technician

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

Alpha Property Management manages approximately 2,500 conventional and affordable multifamily housing units throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Alpha Property Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an apartment community located in Utica, New York. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing general maintenance and repairs and assisting with the overall upkeep of the property. Responsibilities include completing work orders, preparing vacant units, inspecting and maintaining the property and apartment units, managing inventory, and coordinating repairs as needed.

• At least one year of maintenance experience or experience in a related field
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Multifamily housing maintenance experience preferred
• Reliable personal vehicle; truck preferred
• Personal maintenance tools preferred
• Experience with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and drywall preferred
• HVAC certification preferred
• English/Spanish bilingual skills are a plus

• Complete apartment unit turnovers and all related preparation work
• Complete work orders and repairs accurately and promptly
• Assess repairs and estimate the time and materials required
• Conduct unit and property inspections
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept property
• Perform routine preventive maintenance
• Maintain supplies, materials, tools, and equipment
• Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors when necessary
• Participate in on-call or emergency maintenance coverage as assigned
• Perform additional duties as assigned verbally or in writing
