Senior Cloud Engineer

Our client is a highly engineering-driven cloud-native consultancy focused on building and operating production Kubernetes platforms for organisations across Europe.

Unlike many traditional consultancies, the engineers who design and build the platforms are also responsible for running and supporting them in production afterwards. There is a strong ownership mentality around reliability, observability, automation, and operational quality.

The environments are heavily focused on Kubernetes, platform engineering, Git Ops, Terraform/Open Tofu, CI/CD, and cloud-native infrastructure. The organisation works extensively with AWS and open-source technologies, while actively contributing towards more sovereign and independent European cloud infrastructure solutions.

The Role
This position sits somewhere between Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, with a strong focus on Kubernetes in production environments.

You will be responsible not only for designing and building cloud-native platforms, but also for operating and supporting them afterwards. The team works with shared ownership and shared operational responsibility, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing systems end-to-end rather than simply handing infrastructure over to another team.

You will work on topics such as:

Kubernetes platform operations

Infrastructure automation

Git Ops and CI/CD pipelines

Observability and monitoring

Reliability engineering

Terraform/Open Tofu infrastructure-as-code

Production troubleshooting and incident response

Cloud-native platform engineering within AWS environments

This is a highly hands-on engineering role within a collaborative team environment where technical depth, pragmatism, and operational ownership are all highly valued.

Who Are You?

Experience working with Kubernetes in production environments

Strong experience with Terraform or Open Tofu

Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure

Familiarity with Git Ops tooling such as Flux or ArgoCD

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation

Understanding of observability, monitoring, and reliability concepts

Comfortable participating in shared operational responsibilities and on-call rotations

Strong collaborative and communication skills

Pragmatic, proactive, and low-ego mindset

You do not need to be a deep Kubernetes specialist or "Kubernetes guru" to be successful in this role. What matters most is having solid operational
