Overview of the Role
We are working with a leading international engineering and technology organisation that delivers advanced communications, networking and mission-critical systems to government, defence and maritime customers worldwide.

They are looking to hire a Systems Engineer to support the design, integration and delivery of complex communications solutions used within highly secure operational environments. This is a multidisciplinary engineering position involving radio communications, networking, antennas, encryption technologies and integrated sub-systems.

The successful candidate will be involved throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and system architecture through to integration, verification, testing, acceptance and customer support. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team working on technically challenging projects while gaining exposure to international customers and stakeholders across the defence and security sectors.

Candidate Profile
Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Communications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience working within a systems engineering or project engineering environment.

Understanding of systems engineering principles across the project lifecycle.

Experience with communications, radio frequency (RF), networking or integrated electronic systems.

Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Fluent English and Dutch language skills.

Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, project activities and site support.

Required / Highly Preferred:

Experience supporting defence, security, naval, aerospace or other mission‑critical programmes.

Knowledge of communication systems, radios, antennas, encryption technologies and network architectures.

Experience contributing to technical proposals, bids or tender responses.

Exposure to system integration, verification, validation and acceptance testing activities.

Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies and recognised industry standards.

Experience using engineering and project tools such as MS Project, Visio, Word and Excel.

Understanding of IP networking technologies and network configuration.

Beneficial:

Experience working within international engineering organisations.

Exposure to secure communications or defence communication systems.

Knowledge of maritime, naval or military communication environments.

Previous involvement in site commissioning and customer acceptance activities.

Experience coordinating with sales, project management and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
