Position: Payroll Lead (Dutch Payroll)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert in all areas of payroll processing.
  • Analyze and respond to complex payroll issues.
  • Upskill and develop colleagues through training delivery and coaching.
  • Support the Sales process, sharing payroll practices, legislation and other key information.
  • Partner with technical teams and maintain the country solution.
  • Process payroll end-to-end according to defined standards and client requirements.
  • Ensure the payroll calendar is followed and deviations are handled via the appropriate change-control process.
  • Proactively identify upsell opportunities and support the Change Request process when deviations from the contract scope are identified.
  • Understand standard and client-specific payroll reports, including statutory year-end reporting needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislation, system updates, changes and overall payroll procedures while managing the payroll legislation roadmap.
  • Provide support and guidance for all implementations and go-lives, ensuring automation and standards are used.
  • Lead projects designed to improve customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Answer payroll-related questions and requests from the team and from clients; support the Operations Manager with client engagement activities.
  • Support the sales life cycle including payroll practices and legislation requirements.
  • Ensure compliant use of all systems.
  • Support technical issue coordination and resolution.
  • Maintain the client solution and provide functional support as needed.
  • Recommend or participate in innovation activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support project implementations and go-lives.
  • Contribute to team meetings and raise issues immediately to the Operations Manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Strada announcements and communications.

Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience administering payroll in an HR consulting, HR outsourcing or corporate environment.
  • Expert knowledge on Dutch payroll processes, practices and associated legislation.
  • Advanced English skills;
    Dutch skills would be an asset.
  • HRIS knowledge:
    Workday, SAP, or People Soft knowledge preferred.
  • Payroll certifications, e.g., PDL, VPS.
  • Strong knowledge of the various inputs and outputs such as third-party interfaces, timekeeping, tax filing/compliance, benefits and other key areas that integrate with payroll.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility to support a global and fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Self-motivated and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as independently while adhering to processes and procedures.
