We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Dovegate, a Category B remand prison in Staffordshire. The prison houses around 1,200 patients with a range of needs, including long‑term conditions and complex health requirements. As a GP you will work on reception, support with urgent same‑day medication, duty doctor referrals, leavers medication and substance‑misuse withdrawal programmes, working closely with the nursing team and non‑medical prescribers to deliver high‑quality healthcare services.
HoursSessions to be worked can fall between:
Monday to Friday 8 am‑8 pm;
Saturday 1 pm‑5 pm.
This is a bank role with an hourly salary of £81.25.

- MBChB or MBBS
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
- Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
- Experience working as a GP in community general practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications
