As Electronics & Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of world-class off-highway machines. Working at the forefront of electrification, automation, connectivity and advanced machine control, you will take ownership of critical electrical and electronic systems that directly influence machine performance, operator experience and customer value.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with system-level thinking, contributing to products that are designed, tested and seen in action across construction, agriculture and industrial applications worldwide. You will play a pivotal role in shaping machine functionality, ensuring systems meet performance, reliability and safety requirements while supporting delivery to programme targets.

You will also have the opportunity to work on emerging technologies including connected machines, intelligent control systems, advanced diagnostics, electrified powertrains and next-generation machine architectures.

Electronics & Control Systems Engineer Role:

Electrical system ownership

Own the development and evolution of key machine systems, from concept through validation and production, influencing how operators interact with and experience products worldwide.

Define and develop electrical architectures, including ECU allocation, CAN network layouts and sensor/actuator integration.

Ensure designs meet functional, environmental and reliability requirements.

Control systems & integration

Work alongside some of the industry's leading specialists in software, controls, hydraulics, mechanical design and advanced engineering to deliver integrated machine solutions.

Ensure seamless interaction between ECUs, embedded software and machine-level functionality.

Integrate and validate CAN-based communication and diagnostic systems.

Requirements & documentation

Capture, manage and maintain traceability of system requirements throughout the V-cycle.

Develop key documentation, including electrical specifications, interface definitions (CAN signals, I/O mapping) and diagnostic strategies.

Validation & testing

Define and execute validation plans (DVP&R) for electrical systems.

See your designs come to life through hands-on testing activities, from laboratory rigs to full machine trials in real-world operating environments.

Investigate challenges, validate solutions and directly influence final machine performance.

Use CAN tools to verify system behaviour and diagnose issues.

Fault finding & issue resolution

Lead structured, system-level fault investigations.

Analyse CAN data, logs and machine performance to identify root causes.

Drive corrective actions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Programme delivery

Support delivery of systems in line with timing, cost and quality targets.

Contribute to design reviews, gateway processes and change control.

Work closely with suppliers on components such as ECUs, sensors and wiring harnesses.
