Position: Teller/Banker (Uvalde)

What You Will Do

As a Teller/Banker, you will often deliver the very first impression of the credit union to our members. You will become an expert and champion of Security Service products and services to help our members reach their financial goals. You will build and nurture long‑lasting relationships by promoting our checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance services. You will only offer products and services that meet your member's needs and contribute to their financial success.

You will be a team player supporting the credit union in becoming America’s best by meeting sales goals, proactively identifying cross‑sell opportunities, and educating members on digital services available to them. You will provide "universal" service and be cross‑trained in both teller and banker functions for greater member service. This role offers additional learning and growth opportunities. You may also be asked to complete other job‑related duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our purpose, and abide by our organization’s values.

We Require

At Security Service, we champion career growth and development. As such, our member service roles have a defined career path to support this. Most of our branch managers and assistant branch managers started in a Teller/Banker role!

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of retail banking, cash handling, customer service, and sales experience, or comparable experience.
  • Customer‑centric attitude focused on delivering great experiences to members while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a goal‑driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to focus in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule during normal business hours—no Sunday work.
  • May be required to travel to and from other branch locations for work and/or training.
  • At management discretion, may be required to complete federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) within 180 days of request, in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act). If registered, you must maintain active registration and comply with all requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act, including submission of a unique identifier and timely updates to the Registry.

    You must pass any subsequent background checks against the GSA Excluded Parties List, HUD Limited Denial of Participation List, and FHFA Suspended Counter party Program list as required by secondary market investors.
Ideal Candidate Will Have

A desire to learn and grow within the credit union. Prior experience with banking or financial institution core systems and platforms. Experience with recommending products and services that meet customers' needs. Our most successful Teller/Bankers ask appropriate high‑impact questions to uncover needs that members may not even realize they have, ensuring they are fully aware of the services we offer to save them time and money.
