Kona Medical Consulting is currently looking for a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner in Texas (Corpus Christi/Victoria/Kingsville area, as well as the Eagle Pass/Del Rio/Uvalde region).

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wound care management and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various settings. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic wounds.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and other wound care procedures.
  • Administer injections and manage tube feeding as necessary.
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patients for potential complications.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding wound care management and prevention strategies.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using appropriate coding systems, including ICD-10.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex needs, including those requiring dementia care or pediatric considerations.
  • Stay updated on best practices in wound care and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in acute care settings is preferred.
  • Proficiency in performing spinal taps and managing aliment-related issues is a plus.
  • Experience administering injections and conducting thorough assessments of vital signs.
  • Familiarity with coding practices related to wound care management.
  • A strong background in pediatrics or experience working with dementia patients is advantageous.
