Job overviewThe department is looking for 1 Consultant Anaesthetist to join our busy anaesthetic department. This is a general post but sub-specialty interests would be supported where possible.
The successful candidate will hold the FRCA or equivalent. We would welcome candidates who hold a keen interest in major general surgery and peri-operative medicine.
We particularly welcome applications from motivated individuals keen to invest in the development of our services and who will contribute to a positive departmental culture.
The anaesthetic department are known for working cohesively and supporting one another not only in the clinical setting but physically and emotionally too.

Working for our organisationThe Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Person specification- Valid registration with the General Medical Council
- MBBS or Equivalent
- FRCA or Equivalent Listed on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview.
- Previous UK experience at senior registrar level or above
- Experience at stage 3 level or equivalent in a wide range of general anaesthesia including emergency and trauma anaesthesia
- Specialist Interest Area in general anaesthesia and major surgery including robotic surgery.
- Formal teaching qualification
- Specialist Interest Area in Peri‑Operative Medicine.
- Stage 3 equivalent training in paediatric anaesthesia
