A welcoming and supportive mainstream primary/secondary school in Uxbridge is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and thrive within a mainstream setting.
About the School
The school is inclusive and committed to supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils receive consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with individual pupils on a 1:1 basis. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing tailored 1:1 support to help pupils access the curriculum
* Supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation throughout the school day
* Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs or support plans
* Assisting with classroom activities and adapting tasks as needed
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement
* Liaising with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Creating a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
About You
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
* A patient, caring, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Able to support pupils with emotional, behavioural, or learning needs
* Reliable, committed, and passionate about inclusive education
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
