Brunel Medical School first opened its doors to students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including early patient clinical contact in years 1 & 2, Team-Based Learning (TBL) and programmatic assessment. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.
RoleWe are recruiting a Clinical Lecturer, on a permanent basis. The Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Lead for Year 2, for a 4‑year duration, with a potential to extend. In addition, the postholder will be required to co‑lead on research projects for the Phase 1 MBBS program.
Qualifications and Experience- Postholder will be a clinician with an excellent background in basic sciences to inform the maintenance and review of the pre‑clinical Phase 1 of the MBBS program.
- Experience of educational leadership and a track record of high‑quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university‑affiliated role.
- Experience of undergraduate teaching with a wide range of educational experience and skills.
- Key member of the medical education team led by the Dean, responsible for the design, delivery, quality management and enhancement of Year 2, Phase 1 of the undergraduate medical education within the medical school.
- Contribute to other areas of medical education, such as Team-Based Learning (TBL), the personal tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCE.
- Participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process.
- Duties may vary, and leadership roles may rotate depending on requirements of the programme.
