Brunel Medical School first opened its doors to students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including early patient clinical contact in years 1 & 2, Team‑Based Learning (TBL) and programme assessment. Across all aspects of the student experience, equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded.
We are recruiting a Clinical Lecturer, on a permanent basis. The Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Lead for Year 2 for a 4‑year duration, with a potential to extend. In addition, the postholder will co‑lead research projects for the Phase 1 MBBS programme.
Responsibilities- Act as Academic Lead for Year 2 over a 4‑year duration, with potential extension.
- Co‑lead research projects for the Phase 1 MBBS programme.
- Maintain and review the pre‑clinical Phase 1 of the MBBS programme, informed by expert basic science knowledge.
- Design, deliver, manage quality and enhance the Year 2, Phase 1 undergraduate curriculum.
- Contribute to Team‑Based Learning, personal tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCE activities.
- Participate in the ongoing General Medical Council accreditation process.
- Other duties and rotating leadership roles as required by programme needs.
- Clinician with an excellent background in basic sciences.
- Experience in educational leadership and a track record of high‑quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university‑affiliated role.
- Experience in undergraduate teaching across a range of educational methods and skills.
