The post-holder will support both undergraduate and postgraduate students through all aspects of their placement applications working creatively with academic departments and employers to develop students' employability and ensure an adequate supply of placement opportunities.

You should have experience supporting students in achieving their career aspirations within a recruitment environment or a related field in higher education. You will also have experience of being a confident presenter with the ability to motivate students to compete effectively in a challenging job market. You are expected to have advanced IT skills and experience of developing administrative systems to enable you to lead on the development of PWE systems and technology enhancement.

You will also make an active contribution to the wider strategy of academic departments and the PWE, which operates as a one-stop-shop for students and employers. The Placement and Internship Specialist is expected to work in a variety of subject areas including Business, IT, Engineering, Arts, Humanities, Law and Social Science subjects. Occasional weekend work will be expected.
