Management Accountant
Location: Uxbridge
Salary: Up to £50,000 + bonus
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will support the Finance Manager and Finance Director in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial information while providing valuable insight to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and timely delivery of monthly management accounts packs.
- Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecast reviews.
- Analyse monthly variances between actual and budgeted performance, providing meaningful commentary and recommendations.
- Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support year-end activities, including preparation for external audits and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly EU VAT returns and quarterly UK VAT returns.
- Review and maintain sales and purchase ledgers, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Build strong working relationships with budget holders and stakeholders across the business.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing finance processes, controls, and reporting.
- Provide support to the Finance Manager and Finance Director on ad hoc projects and business requirements.
- Previous experience in a finance or management accounting role.
- Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of UK VAT regulations and VAT return preparation.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience working within FMCG or Retail
