Operations Manager
Ideally, you will be based in or around North West and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
Responsibilities- Ensure that the site is organised and always in good order.
- Understand your position within the construction team and what is expected.
- Assist and lead on occasions with various disciplines within the construction processes.
- Communicate within the construction team and potentially direct junior members of the team.
- Take direction and instruction from line managers and challenge if necessary.
- Direct the necessary labour, plant, staff and equipment to achieve both plot and project completion on time, to specification and within budget.
- Train and develop junior members of the team to meet current and future requirements.
- Monitor that the Buying team and Surveying department order the correct materials and subcontract services in a timely manner to meet contract objectives.
- Ensure compliance with Group Safety Policy and Health and Safety Regulations.
- Ensure that staff and operatives are managed and led effectively by developing the skills and attitudes of managers, fostering a high‑morale working environment.
- Manage site teams by monitoring performance against contract targets and initiating any necessary corrective actions.
- Ensure staff training and development have occurred as planned at annual appraisal and appraisal review stages.
- Achieve maximum marks on the twice‑monthly Health and Safety audit.
- Significant experience working on design and build projects for a main contractor, with knowledge of H & S, design and procurement processes.
- Experience managing all aspects of the build process, coordinating packages from design and procurement through to installation on site and handover.
- Preferred trade and site experience.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation.
- CSCS Card at Site Manager level.
- Valid SMSTS certificate.
- Experience working on Education and/or MOJ Projects is welcomed.
