A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Senior Compliance Manager at APCOA, you will serve as a strategic compliance leader across our European operations. Your day involves providing expert guidance on complex regulatory matters while overseeing our comprehensive compliance framework. You'll collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement compliance strategies that protect our organization while enabling business growth. As the Group Data Protection Officer, you'll lead our data privacy initiatives, ensuring our 5,000-person workforce maintains the highest standards of data protection across all jurisdictions.

You'll balance addressing routine compliance matters efficiently while driving forward strategic compliance initiatives that align with our new operating model.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead the development and execution of APCOA's group-wide compliance strategy, ensuring standardization and cohesion across all European operations
  • Serve as Group Data Protection Officer, providing expert oversight of all data privacy compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Identify compliance risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies to protect APCOA's reputation and operations
  • Manage and efficiently resolve compliance breaches and reports, from routine operational matters to complex regulatory issues
  • Develop, review, and update compliance policies with a focus on standardization across the group
  • Provide strategic compliance advice to senior management and the Board, with particular focus on private equity governance requirements
  • Lead investigations into potential compliance breaches and coordinate with regulatory authorities when necessary
  • Manage the compliance team and coordinate with regional compliance officers to ensure a consistent group-wide approach
  • Design and implement effective compliance training programs, with emphasis on data protection
  • Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and develop improvement plans to continuously enhance our compliance posture

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar in-house compliance leadership role
  • Strong background in data privacy law and regulations (GDPR, national data protection laws)
  • Experience working within private equity-backed organizations with understanding of PE governance requirements
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions
  • In-depth knowledge of European regulatory frameworks
  • Professional compliance certification preferred (e.g., CCEP, CIPP)

  • Strategic thinking with exceptional analytical abilities to navigate complex regulatory landscapes
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels and drive group-wide alignment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Sound judgment when managing high-volume, routine compliance matters while maintaining strategic focus
