Location:

Near Uxbridge, Middlesex (commutable from Slough, High Wycombe, Watford, Staines, Hayes, Maidenhead, Windsor, Reading and surrounding areas)
Salary: £35,500 per annum (£18.45ph) + Daily Overtime

Hours:

Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm (37 hours per week)

Syntech Recruitment are proud to be supporting a world-renowned aerospace manufacturer in their search for experienced Assembly Operatives to join their growing production team.

This role is heavily focused on the assembly of aluminium, carbon fibre and composite components, using engineering drawings and detailed build instructions to produce high-quality aerospace assemblies.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong hands-on riveting and mechanical assembly experience, who are confident working with aluminium sheet/components, carbon fibre and other composite materials within a precision manufacturing environment.

Assembly Operative Responsibilities

* Assemble aluminium, carbon fibre and composite components to produce precision aerospace assemblies and sub-assemblies

* Carry out riveting and mechanical fastening of aluminium and composite structures

* Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, technical drawings and build instructions

* Position, align and secure components in accordance with specified tolerances and assembly procedures

* Drill, countersink, rivet and mechanically fasten components as required

* Work with different types of rivets, fasteners, fixings and assembly hardware

* Handle and assemble carbon fibre and other composite materials while maintaining strict quality standards

* Use adhesives and bonding processes where required as part of the assembly process

* Use hand tools, air tools, fixtures and specialist assembly equipment

Assembly Operative Requirements

* Previous experience within mechanical, structural or precision assembly

* Strong practical experience with riveting and mechanical fastening

* Experience working with aluminium components, sheet aluminium or fabricated aluminium assemblies

* Experience working with carbon fibre, GRP or other composite materials would be highly advantageous

* Confident reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings

* Comfortable using drills, rivet guns, hand tools, air tools and other assembly equipment

* Good understanding of component alignment, hole preparation, drilling and fastening

This position would particularly suit candidates from an aircraft assembly, aerospace structures, motor sport composites, aluminium fabrication, coach building or precision engineering background who have strong riveting and technical drawing experience.
