Job Overview
The Occupational Health Clinic Nurse role will form part of the North West London Occupational Health Shared Service team, helping to promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of staff. This is a full‑time position primarily based at Hillingdon Hospital, with flexibility to cover other sites within the shared service.

- Woodfield Road, W9 (Main hub)
- Milton Keynes – Stony Stratford
- Provide vaccination and immunisation programmes for staff at risk of pathogen exposure.
- Perform venepuncture and assess and manage blood and body fluid exposure incidents.
- Answer telephone and email inquiries as a duty nurse, providing sign‑posting and health and wellbeing advice.
- Maintain comprehensive occupational health record‑keeping, inputting and retrieving clinical data such as immunisation details and test results.
- Participate in the quality, monitoring and evaluation of the occupational health service.
- Support employees in disability‑related employment opportunities and ongoing employment maintenance.
- Work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, maintaining effective communication and client confidentiality in accordance with the NMC Professional Practice and Code of Conduct and the Data Protection Act.
- Provide high‑standard client care in a range of clinical and non‑clinical settings as required by occupational health service or partner/customer needs.
- Practice within the scope of the NMC Professional Practice and Code of Conduct and maintain client confidentiality, including compliance with the Data Protection Act.
- Assist in developing sound knowledge of organisational processes and establish strong working relationships with authorised officers of all partners and customers.
- Apply specialist knowledge and skills to undertake clinical services and other varied responsibilities, working with limited supervision and being accountable for professional actions.
- Registered General Nurse with evidence of current NMC registration.
- Relevant post‑registration experience in a variety of primary and secondary care settings, including A&E, GP practice, adult vaccination teams or acute nursing experience.

- Experience of health promotion activities.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Ability to keep accurate, legible client records in line with professional and legal requirements, both paper and electronic.
- Venepuncture proficiency.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Administration of immunisations and vaccinations.
- Previous experience of working in occupational health within the NHS or a similar setting.
– Essential Criteria
- Good knowledge of clinical governance.
- Understanding of key issues and developments in nursing.
- Full understanding of data protection, safeguarding, and confidentiality principles, accurately recording clinical data and sign‑posting as required.
- Knowledge of immunisation programmes for healthcare staff.

- Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Ability to commute effectively across locations within the shared service.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
- Ability to work under pressure during periods of increased activity.
- Ability to deal with clients who are distressed on a regular basis.
- Ability to manage occasional aggression from clients, whether verbal via telephone or face‑to‑face.
