We are recruiting for an experience Mechanical Inspector – within despatch for an aerospace company near Uxbridge UB9
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- £35k to £37k per annum
- Mon to Fri between 8am to 5pm – 37.5 hours per week
- Early finish on Fridays at 12 middays

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Mechanical Inspector – Despatch to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring that all components meet required specifications and quality standards before despatch. You will carry out inspection, documentation, and verification activities in line with company procedures, production schedules, and Health & Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Verify parts and components using a variety of inspection techniques and equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality documentation.
- Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality records.
- Use SAP to track work in progress, record non-conformances, and monitor component locations.
- Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained.
- Support Lean initiatives, including 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Communicate non-conformances and support root cause investigations.
- Maintain safe handling practices and comply with all H&S regulations.
- Contribute to training and continuous improvement within the team.
- Minimum 5 years’ inspection experience using:
Height Gauges, Bore Micrometres, DTI’s, and Intertest equipment. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Background in manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Aerospace industry background.
- AS9102 FAIR experience.
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Strong numeracy and geometry skills.
- Ability to document inspection results and produce accurate reports.
- Advanced SAP experience.
- Laser scanning inspection capability.
- Broader tool proficiency and metrology techniques.
