About the ProjectThe Park Royal Net Zero Food Supply Chains project is based in Park Royal, West London, one of the UK’s largest employment hubs. The project works with local food and drink businesses to address energy, waste and productivity challenges, aiming to reduce carbon costs, strengthen resilience and support economic growth.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious researcher to conduct energy and carbon assessments across industries in Park Royal, including site visits, energy surveys and high‑quality research outputs. The role also involves planning and organising research activities, contributing to project delivery, and engaging with industry partners while supporting small research teams.
Qualifications- PhD or postgraduate qualification with experience in engineering, built environment, or technology.
- Knowledge of food supply chains.
- Experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and thermodynamic modelling of energy technologies and systems.
- Familiarity with software such as Energy Plus, IES VE, and TRNSYS is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with researchers and project partners.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK for the duration of any offer.
- Conduct energy and carbon assessments across industries in Park Royal.
- Perform site visits for data collection, energy surveys and produce high‑quality research outputs.
- Plan and organise research activities, contribute to project delivery and strategy.
- Build collaborations, mentor junior researchers and support team activities.
- Prepare reports, publications, present findings at conferences and contribute to funding proposals.
- Carry out administrative and, where appropriate, teaching duties.
