Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance tasks, conduct inspections and complete repairs on heavy duty vehicles, trailers and cargo tanks.
Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair air, hydraulic and electrical systems.
Perform a wide variety of maintenance and diagnostic functions on bulk liquid handling equipment; PTO’s, pumps, meters, reels etc.
Account for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
Must understand and properly use all tooling needed for cargo tank repairs.
Maintains general housekeeping by keeping shop clean and free from oil, fluids, etc.
Requirements:
Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for equipment repair.
Welding & fabrication experience preferred.
Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems is desired.
A self-starter that works as a team member under the direction of management.
Ability to prioritize work and follow through with repairs.
Able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
Must have basic hand tools or willing to invest in them
Safety conscious – knows how to look out for him/herself and others in the work environment.
Ability to frequently lift to 50 lbs. Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands, and fingers. Also crawling and working in narrow spaces.
Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e., hammering, turning wrenches
Exposed to heat, cold, noise mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
