police officer (academy graduate): $/year*

*(includes 5.38% holiday pay and $1,800 uniform allowance)
police officer salary (upon completion of fto) $119,875 - $170,417/year
* *(minimums includes 5.38% holiday pay and $1,800 uniform allowance, maximum includes uniform allowance, holiday, ba degree,senior officer iii and bilingual pays)

additional compensation and other benefits:

• hiring incentive - $20,000
• educational incentive - 2.5% for associate's degree & 5% for bachelor's degree
• senior officer program - 2.5-11% (depends on qualifications)
• bilingual premium - 2.5%
• clothing allowance - $1,800/year

• graveyard shift differential - $520/month

a) are currently enrolled in a california p.o.s.t.

-approved police academy and are expected to graduate no later than december 2025,
or
b) have successfully graduated from a california p.o.s.t.

-approved police academy within the last 3 years,

c) are currently employed in a sworn capacity withacalifornia law enforcement agency but have not yet completed probation

successful completion of a california basic law enforcement academy (dated within the preceding three (3) years) or p.o.s.t. Recertification course (dated within the preceding three (3) years) is required at time of application.
