Clinical Dietitian - Outpatient (Part Time, Days) — North Bay Health
OverviewThe Clinical Dietitian will support the Intensive Cardiac Rehab program and deliver nutrition care according to the philosophy, policies, and goals/objectives of North Bay Health. The Clinical Dietitian assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nutritional processes for individual patient care. The Clinical Dietitian makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward nutrition goals and uses a professional relationship with the patient and family to facilitate those goals.
The Clinical Dietitian modifies and delivers care/education specific to the behaviors and needs of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, which may include individual nutrition counseling or group classes. The role in the Center for Women’s Health Clinic requires the additional certification:
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).
- Deliver nutrition care according to North Bay Health policies and goals.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutritional processes for individual patient care.
- Determine patient progress toward nutrition goals and adjust care accordingly.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, including group classes.
- Education:
B.S. in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics with completion of one year internship or equivalent accreditation program. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required. Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred but required if working in Center for Women’s Health; CCS paneled status preferred;
Board Certified Specialist in Oncology, Gerontological Nutrition, Obesity & Weight Management, or Pediatrics preferred. - Experience:
At least one year of outpatient nutrition experience preferred. - Skills:
Communication, behavior modification techniques (CBT for eating behavior modification), Motivational Interviewing (MI), electronic documentation and assessment, organization, time management, data analysis, presentation and teaching skills. - Interpersonal/Values:
