Telework
  • Telework is available on a limited basis.

Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and maintain payroll systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll services.
  • Provide lead work direction and training to co‑workers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Develop, document, and implement standardized work procedures and policy updates to address operational needs and enhance payroll compliance.
Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of experience processing payroll. Experience must demonstrate:

  • Experience with financial systems (i.e., SEMA4, OBIEE) and applications, database, spreadsheets, and other office applications.
  • Experience with building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to support accounting and payroll processes.
  • Experience resolving fiscal discrepancies and developing and implementing fiscal procedures.
  • Experience interpreting and analyzing fiscal data, reports, and records.
  • Experience with reconciliations and resolving variances or discrepancies.

OR

Three (3) years of administrative support experience in the area of payroll processes that demonstrates the following:

  • Experience entering information into various financial systems (i.e., SEMA4, OBIEE) and applications, database, spreadsheets, and other office applications.
  • Experience with building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to support accounting and payroll processes.
  • Experience supporting the development and implementation of fiscal procedures.
  • Experience entering and creating fiscal data, reports, and records.
  • Experience with reconciliation and resolving variances or discrepancies.

Note:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree may substitute 1 year of administrative support experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance or closely related field
  • Healthcare accounting and/or other government accounting experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands under tight time constraints.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in performing individual or group presentations to explain, train, or negotiate.
  • Experience of SEMA4 Payroll system and state of Minnesota policies and procedures.
