The Patient Accounts Receivable Specialist position provides exceptional customer service by responding to patient questions specific to a bill for medical services, processing payments, creating payment plans, all while adhering to company policies. The position will be staffed during office hours (8‑4:30 pm).

Responsibilities
  • Handle incoming calls and assist patients with account balance inquiries.
  • Educate patients on EOBs, CPT codes, and diagnosis details to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Process, collect, and accurately post payments to the system, maintaining financial integrity.
  • Coordinate payment reporting and communicate details to collection agencies for timely follow‑up.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service via phone, resolving inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Demonstrate independent judgment to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic payment policies and procedures.
  • Assist with all other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Minimum:
    High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Desired:
    Post secondary education.
Experience
  • Minimum: 2 years of revenue cycle experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction in a team environment.
  • Understanding of CMS billing guidelines and professional clinic billing guidelines.
  • Experience of PC, Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance and medical terminology.
  • Good grammar, spelling and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task.
