As the Leave Management Coordinator, you will manage all coordinated services of FMLA and other leaves of absence for managers, supervisors, and employees. You will integrate contract/plan language, federal and state law, and administrative policies and procedures into daily work and serve as the primary contact for employees, supervisors, and managers seeking information on paid and unpaid leaves.
TeleworkThis position requires onsite presence at 3200 Labore Rd, Ste 104, Vadnais Heights, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with limited telework opportunity. Eligibility for telework:
- Telework is available on a limited basis.
- Only candidates residing in Minnesota or a bordering state within 50 miles of the work address are eligible for telework.
- Candidates residing in Minnesota more than 50 miles from the primary address may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
- Coordinate leaves of absence such as FMLA, Parental Leave, Medical Leave, Military Leave, etc.
- Maintain databases, provide reports, coordinate insurance, and ensure quality control.
- Ensure timely documents, communication, and information.
- Consult with Labor and Employee Relations Staff to resolve complex requests.
- One year of experience in Human Resources for the State of Minnesota.
- Administering FMLA and other types of leave requests, determining eligibility, evaluating, processing, and tracking.
- Applying employment contract language, personnel rules, policies, and procedures related to employee benefits, transactions, and payroll.
- Knowledge of employment laws including ADA, FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, USSERA, Military Leave, unpaid leave, and Government Data Practices.
- Database management, electronic spreadsheets, and word processing software skills sufficient to track HR data, create spreadsheets, and draft presentations or correspondences.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure policies, bargaining agreements, personnel plans, processes, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations are followed accurately and consistently.
- Demonstrated communication skills to interact with a variety of clientele at all levels, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively and timely.
- Knowledge of AFSCME, MAPE, MMA and MNA collective bargaining agreements;
Commissioners and Managerial Plans; laws affecting Human Resources. - Skills using People Soft/SEMA4 to review employee and position information, pull reports, and process personnel transactions.
- HR experience with the State of MN.
- BA degree or higher in Human Resources or Organizational Management or related field.
- Experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
