SUMMARY OF POSITION
Provides friendly and efficient service in a timely manner to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards. Shows guests genuine hospitality while providing them with a memorable experience. Looks professional and shows sincerity with a positive, friendly attitude. Performs all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and quality of work environment as directed by the Manager on Duty.
POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
- Guest Interactions: greet guests courteously, welcome them immediately upon seating, use menu knowledge to offer suggestions, answer questions and anticipate needs.
- Delivery: check completed food orders for accuracy, appearance and temperature, deliver to the table immediately.
- Serve with hospitality: engage guests who have concerns, remedy issues, ensure 100% satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness: keep tables, station, pantry line area and dining room common areas clean, complete assigned cleaning duties.
- Side work during shift downtime: roll silverware, restock cleaning stations and buss tables.
- Execute the service cycle and team responsibilities at all times.
- Communicate with Manager on Duty and coworkers about product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
- Process orders: write guest checks and operate POS equipment.
- Assist team members and maintain service stations and common areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to see at distances up to 20 feet, at close range 12 inches, distinguish shapes and use peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
- Must communicate clearly.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold.
- Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2½–3 feet.
- High mobility/flexibility.
- Time‑management skills.
- Read, write and perform addition/subtraction calculations.
- Use fingers to write, slice, chop and operate equipment.
- Fit through openings 30” wide.
- Work irregular hours under heavy pressure during busy times.
- Bending, reaching, walking.
- Carry trays of food weighing about 50 lbs for distances up to 30 ft.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives direction and training from the Manager on Duty as to specific procedures and assignments.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED
Basic skills such as sanitation, safety and customer service can be taught through in‑house training.
