About the Role
Managed end-to-end accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance activities for a manufacturing organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities included accounting of sales, purchases, cash and bank transactions, GST/excise compliance, TDS returns, export-import documentation, and coordination with government authorities.
Responsibilities
Responsible for end-to-end plant accounting, including review of purchase, sales, inventory, fixed assets, expenses, cash and bank transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities, including preparation of Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement and supporting schedules.
Monitor costing and manufacturing-related accounting transactions, inventory valuation, provisions, accruals and reconciliations.
Review GST compliance, including GST returns, ITC reconciliations, departmental notices, audits and coordination with tax consultants.
Oversee TDS compliance, deduction accuracy, return filing, reconciliations, assessments and resolution of notices from tax authorities.
Coordinate statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit and other regulatory audits, ensuring timely preparation and submission of required information.
Prepare MIS reports, variance analysis, working capital reports, cash flow forecasts and financial presentations for management review.
Liaise with bankers, auditors, government authorities and cross-functional teams to ensure statutory compliance, effective financial controls and continuous process improvement.
