About the opportunity:
Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms (2D, M-Mode, and Doppler). Also perform cardiac stress testing, Echo stress, Dobutamine Echo stress, Nuclear stress, and GXT.
This position is PRN or as needed. Eligible for 16% PRN Shift differential.
What you will do:
Perform all Echocardiography examinations according to Vail Health protocols. Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to cardiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure. Perform adult, pediatric, and infant echocardiography exams (2D, M-Mode, and Doppler). Perform all forms of cardiac stress testing:
Echo stress, Dobutamine Echo stress, Nuclear stress testing, and GXT, including pre-exercise evaluation, reviewing documentation, and post-exercise visualization of all pertinent myocardial structures. Assist the cardiologist with Trans-Esophageal Echocardiography (TEE). Monitor inventory of supplies and orders when stock is low. Keep the exam room stocked and neat. Identify each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.
Review consistency of all demographic information including physician's name and signature, patient's name, and date. Maintain constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care. Maintain established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions. Maintain working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
Participate in departmental and team meetings. Other duties as assigned. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values. Must be HIPAA compliant

What you will need:
Experience:
2 years of experience preferred.
License(s)/ Certification(s):
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Basic Life Support (BLS) required
