What you will do

Maintain daily operational aspects of the unit and manage nurse/patient ratios to ensure safe, quality care and financial responsibility.

Serve as a unit expert and resource to staff and physicians, providing staff supervision and fostering professional growth.

Act as a role model for high level of nursing professionalism while moving the patient efficiently through the care continuum and functioning as a member/leader of the interdisciplinary care delivery team.

Provide expert level patient assessment to include biophysical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, environmental, self-care and discharge/transfer needs and practice according to Vail Health Nursing Professional Model of Care.

Participate in the interviewing, monitoring, coaching, precepting, evaluating, and disciplining processes and work in a respectful and patient manner.

Participate in quality improvement programs utilizing LEAN methodology and Peaks of Excellence program.

Manage patient, physician, and staff expectations by proactively communicating and accurately assess education level of patient/family and provide appropriate education as needed.

Act as a unit liaison, including being familiar with the budget process and staffing levels, regularly attending meetings, and supporting the functions of various teams.

Role model the principles of Just Culture and Organizational Values.

Must be HIPAA compliant and perform other duties as assigned.

What you will need

Three years of clinical experience required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour. Hourly Pay: $43.43–$68.28 USD
