Ultrasound Technologist – Providence Valdez Medical Center

Position Type: Per Diem – Day Shift (0.01 FTE) – Onsite

Location: Providence Valdez Medical Center, Valdez, AK

Performs all essential functions of a Registered Sonographer, including:

• Perform and evaluate sonographic examinations across abdominal, OB/Gyn, breast, and vascular areas.
• Obtain patient clinical history and conduct physical assessments to develop appropriate testing protocols.
• Provide technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data to support physicians in diagnosis.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and adhere to safety and infection‑control standards.

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Sonography program or holding a certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (R.D.M.S.) within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 9 months of ultrasound coursework experience in abdomen and OB/Gyn, including clinical rotation.

• Minimum 9 months of ultrasound coursework experience in breast and vascular, including clinical rotation.
