Copper Valley Electric Association (Glennallen, AK) is accepting applications for the position of Operations Manager in the Valdez or Copper Basin District. This position is open until filled.

• Ensures CVEAs distribution, transmission, and substation facilities are maintained, operated, and constructed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with industry standards and regulations.
• Supports the Cooperatives vision of excellent customer service, represents the Cooperative, and develops and maintains relationships with the community.
• Provides day-to-day supervision and development of the Line Foremen and line crews.
• Performs on-call duty, responds to outages and system emergencies when necessary.
• Oversees the Cooperatives fleet of vehicles and equipment.
• Organizes and effectively manages maintenance plans, crew schedules, training and activities, and establishes the annual department budget.
• Works independently and utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills inside and outside the organization.

• A valid or ability to obtain an Alaska Driver's License is required.
• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A two-year technical degree is preferred, or a technical certification as a Journeyman Lineman.
• Ten years progressively responsible experience in the electric utility industry and system operations experience with an electric utility.
• Must be able to travel between CVEAs Valdez and Copper Basin districts and to remote locations, on both a scheduled and emergency basis.
• Area of domicile must be within the CVEA service territory.

The Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer. There is a six-month probationary period for the successful applicant.
