The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching didactic and clinical courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Responsibilities
Department Summary
The Department of Human Services seeks part-time faculty to teach didactic and clinical courses at the graduate level in Social Work.
Part-time faculty must perform duties associated with teaching at the post-secondary level. The duties for this position include normal teaching responsibilities for teaching graduate courses. Methods of instruction may include seated, hybrid, and online formats. Part-time faculty are expected to collaborate with the Department Head and Program Director in order to design and facilitate pedagogy that aligns with accreditation standards, program goals, and student learning goals.
VSU policies and procedures related to teaching will also be observed.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
100% Teaching
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program and at least 2 years of post-master's experience in Social Work or related field
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting
- A record of mentoring students
- Experience teaching online
- Experienced clinician
Commensurate with experience.

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.
