Part-Time Instructor (Special Education)
Valdosta State University (VSU) invites applications for a Part‑Time Instructor in Special Education. The position will teach assigned courses, support student learning and maintain accurate records.
Job Summary
Selected candidate will teach courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned courses from the department, including teaching courses online.
- Effectively communicate with students and support student learning.
- Assess students' performance and maintain detailed records of grades and student attendance.
- Model professional dispositions and complete all compliance training (online) required by VSU.
Typical Allocation of Duties
Teaching – 100%
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education.
- Three years teaching experience with students with disabilities in a K‑12 setting.
- Experience teaching online.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in Special Education.
- Special Education administrative experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
- A record of mentoring students.
Salary – Commensurate with experience.
Conditions of Employment
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
- Position may require a credit check.
- Position requires completion of VSU's Annual Compliance Training course and other VSU training.
