SGMC Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary inpatient rehab environment.

Position SummaryProvide therapeutic interventions and document care in an interdisciplinary team. Coordinate the patient’s plan of care with physicians and other disciplines. Contribute to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement. Maintain an environment that supports SGMC’s mission, vision, values, and policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Graduate of an AOTA‑approved associate degree program (or foreign equivalent) and hold an applicable current license in Georgia.
- Experience working with adult and geriatric populations with physical disabilities.
- Team collaboration and leadership skills.
- Adaptability, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Policy and standard interpretation, critical thinking.
- Strong clinical skills providing therapeutic interventions.
- Effective communication with a diverse patient and family population, including those with stressed behaviors.
- CPR certification required. QI credentialing required within initial 90 days.

Primarily a hospital or clinical setting requiring considerable standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting, sometimes over 50 pounds. Employees may work weekends, holidays, and may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases. The position uses medical equipment, computers, and communication devices.
