Position SummaryProvides technical and clerical support for EKG services. Performs 12 lead EKG’s. Applies Holter Monitors. Copies and distributes reports. Enters and acknowledges orders.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High school graduate (preferred) with current CPR certification. Formal course work in preparation for a career in a medical field is beneficial. Attendance at seminars and in-services related to cardiovascular science is desirable. One year’s experience in a clinical area, preferable cardiac related is also desired. Should have a basic understanding of patient care and relations. Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia course during first year of employment.
Must be in good health with no physical limitations that would prevent fast continued walking, pushing a cart, and climbing flights of stairs. Mental effort involving responsible for considering the condition of the patient indicated by tracings and reporting unusual circumstances as necessary.
