Position OverviewDrives strategy execution by overseeing and managing the Concrete Plant. The specific areas of focus include, but are not limited to, employee productivity, operational efficiency, customer service levels, and employee retention and satisfaction by maintaining a positive working environment. Develops plans for operations, budgets, and policies and procedures. Supervises, coaches, and mentors subordinates. Monitors activities and satisfies reporting requirements in accordance with the Company’s policies.
Responsible for financial performance which includes profit & loss accounts and capital expenditures. Leads by example and shows behavior consistent with the company’s values.
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Delivers strategic leadership and management practices to the organization in support of the company’s business strategy. Ensures continual process improvement.
- Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards. Leads by example, creating and enforcing a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Responsible for maintaining safe working environments and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations; coordinates closely with the safety team.
- Ensures positive relations with employees, customers, suppliers, the community, government interest groups, etc. Assures adherence to applicable legislation and regulations, including permit and environmental conditions, in coordination with the local Plant Manager.
- Understands customer needs and positions the company to profitably meet mutual needs. Provides excellent customer service to all groups by addressing issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner. Builds long‑lasting relationships with customers.
- Ensures quality through evaluation of the production process, material inputs and outputs. Partners with support functions to ensure that the highest quality product is delivered.
- Responds to and maintains positive employer‑employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale. Prevents and resolves problems involving individuals when they arise. Motivates, coaches and mentors employees to build effective teams.
- Supports the region in achieving overall P&L targets by identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with other regional product lines to leverage resources. Responsible for achieving revenue and profit goals for the division.
- Ensures adherence to budget and optimizes processes for greater operational effectiveness. Oversees and directs preparation of operating budgets. Conducts operations reviews to assess cost drivers. Monitors and controls operational volumes, capacity, material use, inventory data, etc. Reviews financial statements, operations and cost reports, and other key performance indicators. Manages capital expenditures.
- Partners with Management and support functions on development of overall objectives and long‑range goals/strategies for the region. Translates objectives to measurable goals for direct reports and monitors actions, ultimately accountable for execution of all approved strategies.
- Takes the lead role in communicating and demonstrating company vision, values and strategies to managers, business partners and the community.
- Develops staffing plans. Responsible for personnel management including recruitment, supervision, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals and terminations. Prioritizes staff workloads to meet product needs/objectives. Develops and trains staff to ensure high skill levels. Partners with Human Resources on employee development and succession planning initiatives, recruiting, discipline, etc.
