Position SummaryMonitors Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Clean In Place (CIP) systems, and Pest Control programs by working closely with the Sanitation Manager to ensure compliance. Assists with internal audits, pathogen swabbing root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action. Assists when food safety issues arise. Conducts and documents assigned sanitation activities to ensure the facility and equipment are maintained properly. Maintains and receives sanitation supplies, tools, and utensils.
Conducts routine maintenance, preventive cleaning activities, and special cause cleaning activities. Maintains facilities in accordance with government food safety and quality standards (e.g. CHS and Good Manufacturing Practices) by conducting validation testing and product evaluations. Provides input to the Sanitation Manager and Chemical Contractor to provide best chemical options for sanitation of the plant. Collaborates with FSQA team to ensure compliance with the Safe Quality Food Code Food Safety manual.
Follows Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), food safety codes, and other applicable laws and requirements. Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Monitor sanitation SOPs, CIP systems, and pest control programs.
- Assist with audits, pathogen swabs, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
- Conduct and document sanitation activities and maintain equipment.
- Maintain sanitation supplies, tools, and utensils.
- Carry out routine preventive cleaning and special cleaning as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards via validation and product testing.
- Collaborate on chemical selection for plant sanitation.
- Work with FSQA team and comply with FSMA, food safety codes, and other laws.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE use, and report hazards or incidents.
- Contribute to continuous safety protocol improvement and workplace cleanliness.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Experience with HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and SQF in manufacturing or production environment.
