essential duties and responsibilities- make certain packaging process in assigned area is completed ensuring proper standards are met.
- ability to set up and operate equipment and machinery.
- assist packaging employees as needed in packaging process.
- ensure quality standards are met.
- maintain good housekeeping and sanitation of work areas.
- direct employees under your charge in completing assigned duties.
- coordinate with supervisor and other leads on an as needed basis to establish schedules, job assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- monitor/manage/maintain equipment, crew, and packaging operator processes to ensure compliance to gmp’s and safety standards.
- must have food experience
- confer with supervisor to resolve employee issues and take appropriate action.
- aid in the resolution of any machine malfunction or processing error to resume/continue efficient production of safe, quality product.
- keep work area clean and free from hazards.
- high school diploma or ged.
- georgia work ready preferred.
- pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
- 1-2 years experience as lead in manufacturing environment.
- proficient computer skills.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- leadership skills.
- mechanical aptitude.
- problem solving/troubleshooting.
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

ability to stand/walk for entire shift, twisting of torso, reaching with arms, using hands to manipulate product on a repetitive basis, pushing wheeled product racks weighting up to 800 lbs, climbing ladders, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs from floor to above waist and 25 lbs from waist to chin. Ability to lift 25 lbs of meat in pans and carry to other tables at waist height.
Ability to use knife in safe manner.
