JOB LOCATION: Main Campus

DEPARTMENT: CARDIOLOGY ADMIN

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8

POSITION SUMMARY

Facilitates the operations and strategic planning of the Cardiovascular Service Line aligning the Service Line with the overall goals of the health system ensuring safe, high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. This role involves managing staff, developing and implementing clinical protocols, problem solving, organizational development, organizational team building, human resources, physician relations, and patient relations. Develops and manages the department’s budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost effectiveness.

Ensures the department complies with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards of practice. Works collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and hospital administration, to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery. Tracks and analyzes quality data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the cardiology department. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.

A comprehensive understanding of cardiology principles, practices, and technologies is essential. Ensures adequate staffing levels and resources to meet the needs of the Cardiovascular Service Line.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Minimum of Master’s in related field and 5 years of previous cardiovascular management and leadership required. MBA, MSN, or MHA preferred.
  • Related health care certification/licensure required.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong physician relations skills, fiscal analysis skills, leadership abilities, and strong operational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Mental Effort:
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Must be able to create and respond to strategies and opportunities in a consistent logical manner. Utilizes health coping skills to manage change, crisis, and human relations issues. Ability to plan in an organized fashion to meet deadlines. Able to maintain professional composure under stressful situations involving patients, physicians and/or staff.

Comfortable with extensive travel. Able to successfully manage in a matrixed environment. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to grasp situations quickly and make sound decisions.

Physical demands:
Duties require considerable amount of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of 50 pounds on occasion), pushing equipment, video systems, carts, beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. In addition, proper body mechanic technique in transferring patients would be necessary since some hands‑on patient care would be expected. Working environment:
Works in an air‑conditioned environment. Subject to irregular scheduling and occasional high levels of stress. Exposure to infection and disease is possible when dealing with patients.
