Dishwasher / Kitchen Assistant, Catering
Position Summary
Responsible for general janitorial duties. Washes pots and pans, scrapes and washes dishes, operates dish machine. Sweeps and mops floors, empties trash containers and does special cleaning of walls, equipment and floors as scheduled. Follows local health regulation when cleaning and sanitizing. Assist in unloading and storing of supplies. Assist with transporting food and supplies to the floor. Assist with preparing cafeteria line for service.
Follows local health and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience preferred.
- Able to read, write, follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge and requirement of safe and sanitary food handling.
- Shows courtesy, tact and reasonable speed in performance of duties.
- Able to tolerate stress and attend to task/function with frequent interruptions.
- Able to remember multiple task/assignments given for a full shift.
- Able to organize work to meet serving schedules.
Requires extensive walking and standing during shift. Requires lifting and bending using correct techniques. Able to lift loads up to 50lbs. Exposed to hazard of burns and cuts due to working with hot equipment, sharp knives and meat slicer. Exposure to infectious material and hazardous chemicals.
