Licensed Social Worker/Therapist (Inpatient) - $5,000 Sign on Bonus!

Signet Health is hiring a licensed mental health professional for its inpatient program at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. The role focuses on conducting comprehensive clinical evaluations and delivering individualized treatment services in both individual and group settings. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that meet state standards and best practice guidelines for inpatient behavioral health care.

• Conduct interviews upon admission to identify the strengths and needs of the patient and family, and help develop treatment goals for the hospital stay and beyond in collaboration with psychiatrists, nurses, and occupational therapists.
• Provide information, supportive counseling, and education to patients and families regarding illness, treatment, and its impact on relationships, work/school, and family life.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for families, arranging and conducting meetings to facilitate communication among patients, families, and the care team, especially during transition and discharge planning.
• Lead therapeutic groups that teach coping skills and support emotional processing.
• Guide patients in connecting with community agencies, coordinate follow‑up, and collaborate on aftercare planning.
• Deliver person‑centered, individualized care through individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation.
• Perform psychosocial assessments of all patients, evaluating social, emotional, interpersonal, and socioeconomic factors.
• Enhance patient and family communication with the treatment team to foster active partnership in care.
• Provide clinical support and coverage to other clinical staff and units as needed.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team processes, including rounds, treatment planning, case reviews, and discharge collaboration with the case management team.
• Act as the primary therapist for assigned patients, assessing presentations against DSM‑5 criteria including substance use, aging, bullying, anger management, relationships, depression, LGBTQ issues, self‑esteem, stress, and suicide risk.
• Collaborate with patients, legal guardians, caregivers, and collateral contacts to create personalized treatment plans.
• Contribute to staff meetings, case conferences, case presentations, and training initiatives.
• Complete required documentation in the patient electronic medical record in a timely manner per policy and procedure.

• Licensed in New York as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
• Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health inpatient experience preferred.
• Strong patient assessment and therapeutic skills in individual, group, and family modalities.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention principles, case management practices, and group therapy techniques.
• Familiarity with DNV and OMH standards.
• Bi‑lingual Spanish speaking a plus.
• Additional certifications such as CASAC beneficial.

Salary range: $65,000–$70,000 per year. Sign‑on bonus of $5,000 is offered. The position includes a market‑competitive benefits package in line with industry standards.
